Introduced at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show the basic Porsche 911 design would run virtually unchanged for twenty-nine years. Ferdinand Porsche had been working on the design since the late fifties as a better performing replacement for the 356. 911s today are still reminiscent of the iconic design. The Porsche 911 quickly became successful in competitive motorsport and history records it as one of the most successful campaigners of all time. From the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to grass-root motorsport, the 911 offered reliable performance in many guises.

For 1970, the C-Series 911 was introduced with a larger bore to give a capacity of 2165cc, producing 125bhp and now badged as a "T". Alterations to suspension points improved the handling and feel to the steering.

Offered for sale is this US specification 911T originally supplied into San Francisco on 01.07.1970. The car is finished in the classic colour combination of Silver metallic (colour code: 8080) with black interior. The car remained in the US until 2014 when a buyer from the UK commissioned classic car restorer, Troy Lundquist, to carry out an extensive restoration of the cars body, leaving a top end engine rebuild to be carried out by US based Porsche specialist PMB Performance.

The car then made its way over onto UK shores and was registered in September of 2014. Upon arrival to the UK, it became apparent that the car sustained damage in the container during transit from the US. The car then underwent a full, bare metal respray to a very high standard by 911 Triple R ltd in Wembley to put it back to its concours standard from when it left the US. It was then enjoyed for several years by its current keeper who then got in touch with us as it was time to move on.

On the road, this is a wonderful classic 911 to drive. This example has also been fitted with PMO carburettors, the original Zeniths will be supplied with the car. The raspy, small capacity 2.2 engine coupled with the early 901 gearbox is a joy to exploit and is perfectly suited to an enthusiastic drive down a windy road on a warm summers evening.
