For better or worse, Tractors make up a significant bulk of Lamborghini's history. Founded in 1948 by the legendary Ferruccio Lamborghini, Lamborghini Trattori used discarded war materials to produce its first tractors. Military vehicle engines and differentials sourced from ARAR centres were used to build the first "Carioca" Tractors.
Within a few years, company production had risen from 1 unit a week to around 200 per year, and new Italian-built engines were replacing the war surplus units.
The example on offer is a 1956 Lamborghini DL25, of which only 55 were produced. It features a 2,504cc OHV 2-Cylinder Diesel Injection Engine (using Bosch Diesel injection) that develops 25hp at 1,500rpm. The power unit is mated to a 4-speed Manual Transmission and the brake system is a Hydraulic Rear Brake setup. This arrangement makes it perfect for the torque heavy requirements of field work, as well as more leisurely cruising. This tractor is made more special thanks to the fact that it retains it's original Lamborghini engine, as well as bearing the signature of Ferrucio Lamborghini's nephew - Fabio Lamborghini. It is sold complete with a folder detailing the extensive restoration process undertaken on this machine.
A perfect addition to any discerning collector's collection!
