Countach is Piedmontese dialect for: amazing or wonderful. A Piedmontese Lamborghini employee kept repeating the name during the development of the car, so the Countach name was ultimately chosen. A suitable name for such a special car, that was quickly clear to Ferruccio Lamborghini.

This example was built in Sant'agata Bolognese, Italy, in May 1988 and went to the United States shortly thereafter. The car has always been cared for by true enthusiasts there, so it still looks beautiful. The car has only driven 33,000 kilometers and looking at the overall condition of the car we can only conclude that it is the original mileage.

Fortunately, it is an original European version, which is many times more beautiful than the cars that were originally intended for the American market. As the icing on the cake, this car is also fitted with an original rear spoiler to complete the fantastic look.

The bodywork is in very good condition, with correct fittings and all doors and hatches close properly. The paintwork has recently been renewed and is therefore in new condition. The black paintwork combines beautifully with the 17-inch five-spoke Lamborghini wheels. The appearance of the Countach is perfectly suited as a poster car. The look is incomparable, the wide air inlets, the four tailpipes of the exhaust system, the large rims: Here is a raging bull, and rightly so.

The interior is in a very original and good condition. The seats are comfortable and offer a lot of support and the original steering wheel also looks very nice. The dashboard also features two AEM wideband lambda meters that work in tandem with the modified ignition, but more on that later. What also stands out is that this Countach has air conditioning. From experience we can report that the air conditioning works perfectly and is a welcome addition as it makes it much easier to travel long distances in warm weather. Because although its imposing appearance suggests otherwise, the Countach is a pleasant touring car. The car is quite comfortable, damn fast and actually quite spacious. Operating the steering wheel, gearshift and clutch is of course a little heavy, as you would expect from a Lamborghini. This is exactly as it was originally intended by the factory.

The technique has been maintained in tip-top condition and modifications have been made to a very important part, namely the car has been fitted with a modern ignition. This work

was professionally done, for example the car was fitted with separate ignition coils which have separate controls and the ignition was set very well and professionally. Of course, when we drive the Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole it's no surprise that a car with 450 hp of power is very fast, but the surprise is all the greater because the engine is also fantastically smooth. The 5.2 liter V12 engine is equipped with six twin Weber carburettors that produce an incomparable sound. As the Countach revs higher, power increases with every 100rpm and the engine produces a fantastic sound as it does so. The gearbox is from a time when there were no worries about the final ratio to perhaps limit CO2 emissions, so the gear ratios border on perfection. If you let the engine accelerate fully and shift into the next gear, the engine immediately falls back into full power potential and the festival can start all over again, no matter what gear or speed you're in. Brakes and chassis are also in very good condition and contribute to the beautiful symbiosis between engine sound and handling.

The car comes with a report from the United States and some general information about the model. In short, a beautiful Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole to look at and an absolutely unprecedented pleasure to drive.
