This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Supercar Fest Sale of Iconic and Classic Cars 2024 on Saturday the 18th of May, Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northampton, NN6 0BN. Supplied new by the famous Tourist Trophy Garage in Farnham, once steeped in Mike Hawthorn folklore, this lovely V12 E-Type was first registered to Weldsparrs of Alton Hampshire as listed on its Heritage Certificate. Still in its original factory specification and showing around 54,000 miles, it was subject to a full restoration between April and December 1986.
Much of the servicing and maintenance in the 1990s was carried out by Classic Coachbuilders and in 2010 it benefitted from a replacement hood and tonneau-cover together with new wire wheels. The history file contains various invoices from this time detailing work carried out by the Hutson Motor Company of Bradford.
The E-Type has been in our vendor's family ownership from 2015 and the last MOT was carried out in 2017 with work that included new power steering pipes. It was serviced by Super Vettura of Sunningdale twice before being virtually laid up in the family garage ever since.
On the button and ready for a new chapter, this lovely V12 has stood the test of time from its earlier restoration, now some 18,000 miles on and has a very comfortable look in a world of over-restored, unusable examples.
