This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Supercar Fest Sale of Iconic and Classic Cars 2024 on Saturday the 18th of May, Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northampton, NN6 0BN. Masai4x4 in Staffordshire are known for their cleverly engineered, superbly presented and well equipped adaptations of Land Rover's venerable Defender and we are pleased to be able to offer this splendid example at our Supercar Fest sale.
This 1989 Defender 110 was originally a 200TDi that had covered just 22,000 miles with two keepers from new and consequently the chassis was in excellent condition and ideal for a Masai conversion. Naturally the vehicle was fully stripped with all mechanical aspects either reconditioned or replaced and has been re-engined as a 300TDi.
It's a three-seater (two front seats and front-middle seat), fitted with seat belts and has been upgraded extensively to enhance the driving experience. All lights have been upgraded to LED and Lynx Eye headlights have been fitted. The whole rear floor has been carpeted in black and sound deadening with Dynamat has been fitted to the floor, roof and bonnet, along with a fully refurbished transfer box with Discovery gear ratios to provide a quieter ride, particularly on motorways. The bodywork is very good and is now resplendent in Grasmere Green with a white roof and wheels.
Apart from a professional restoration, the essence of a Masai conversion is the number of bespoke accessories and upgrades which, in this case, include Masai flute tan seat covers on front seats and front middle seat, rear NAS step (UK), Masai steering guard, Masai front bumper with LED DRLs (stainless steel), Climair wind deflectors on front doors, Masai fire and ice side steps, Masai a-bar/nudge bar, Masai hinged front lamp guards, rear door glass and quarters changed to Masai dark-tinted glass, front grille cover fitted (snow cover), Cargo Bear roof rack, Exmoor trim door handles, Optimill rear door hinges, leisure battery, internal lights, heated seats, upgraded head unit with reversing camera and two-man Bench seats with tan covers to match the front seats.
The current indicated mileage is 22,125 supported by a detailed MOT history. Both keys are present and a fresh 12 months MOT will be applied at the time of sale. This is a beautifully presented, classic 1980s Defender that's simply been brought into this century and we encourage your inspection.
