Hilton & Moss Presents Ultra Rare 2019 Jaguar D-Type Long Nose
25th April, Bishop’s Stortford, UK: Hilton & Moss, renowned specialists in classic and performance cars, proudly presents one of the rarest vehicles of the modern era: a factory-built 2019 Jaguar D-Type Long Nose. This extraordinary machine is one of just 25 examples produced by Jaguar Classic to complete the originally intended production run of 100 D-Types – a promise first made by Jaguar over six decades ago.

Originally launched in 1955, the Jaguar D-Type was a revolutionary sports racing car, designed with a focus on aerodynamic innovation, lightweight construction, and track dominance. It famously won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times consecutively (1955–1957), solidifying its status as one of the most iconic and successful race cars of all time.
However, a fire at the Browns Lane factory in 1957 significantly halted production of the cars, destroying nine chassis that were in various stages of completion. In 2018, Jaguar used the original blueprints to finish the planned 100 cars, building the remaining 25 models.

Each D-Type Continuation model was hand-built by Jaguar Classic at the marque’s Classic Works facility in Warwickshire, using painstakingly sourced materials and techniques to ensure absolute authenticity. The car, now available through Hilton & Moss, was configured in the iconic 1956 Long Nose specification, complete with the extended bonnet, tail fin, wide-angle cylinder head and quick-release fuel filler cap, features that defined the later evolution of the original Le Mans-winning design.
Key specifications include:
3.4-litre XK straight-six engine, producing 320 bhp
Lightweight riveted aluminium monocoque construction
Top speed: 170 mph+
0–60 mph: under 5 seconds
Hand-trimmed interior faithful to 1950s race standards

Each continuation D-Type took over 4,000 hours to produce, using both period-correct craftsmanship and cutting-edge 3D scanning and CAD modelling to replicate original tooling. Jaguar Classic engineers even worked from original 1950s engineering blueprints to ensure dimensional accuracy down to the last rivet.
William Garrett, General Manager, Hilton & Moss said: “We are delighted to be offering this Jaguar D-Type Long Nose for the first time since its original sale in 2019. This particular example is finished in a rare, charming and totally unique colourway that makes it even more special. The craftsmanship and attention to detail on the 25 cars were exquisite and exacting, making this the perfect car for a collection but equally suited to the race track. It was a pleasure watching another example recently competing at the 82nd Goodwood Members Meet”.
As part of the Hilton Group’s 40-year legacy in the classic and performance car industry, Hilton & Moss provides an ideal platform for the sale and support of rare icons such as the D-Type. With 125,000 sq/ft of state-of-the-art facilities and in-house expertise across restoration, servicing, motorsport, and storage, Hilton & Moss is uniquely positioned to care for such a historically significant machine.
