Bianco Speciale Shines at Auction

The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, known as “Bianco Speciale” and bearing chassis number 3729GT, stands among the most revered and valuable automobiles ever produced. One of only 36 examples of the legendary 250 GTO built by Ferrari, this particular car is distinguished not only by its exceptional provenance but also by its rare and elegant factory-finished white livery, a striking departure from the traditional Rosso Corsa.

Chassis 3729GT boasts a rich competition and ownership history that places it firmly among the most significant surviving GTOs. Carefully preserved and sympathetically maintained over the decades, it represents a benchmark of authenticity, originality, and historical importance within the world of Ferrari and international motorsport heritage.

Recently, “Bianco Speciale” returned to the spotlight when it crossed the auction block at the prestigious Mecum Kissimmee sale. The car achieved an exceptionally high sale price of $38,500,000, reaffirming the enduring desirability of the 250 GTO and underscoring its status as one of the most valuable collector cars in existence. The result was widely regarded as one of the headline moments of the event.

The sale highlights the continued strength of the top tier of the collector car market, where rarity, provenance, and originality remain decisive factors. Few automobiles combine competition pedigree, aesthetic purity, and historical significance in the way the 250 GTO does, making each public appearance a major event in the automotive world.

As “Bianco Speciale” moves into its next chapter, it further cements the legend of the Ferrari 250 GTO — not merely as an iconic racing machine, but as a cultural and financial benchmark for collectors worldwide.

10th Winter Romania Historic Rally | 15-17 January 2026

The Winter Romania Historic Rally celebrated its 10th edition from 15 to 17 January 2026 in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains, in Transylvania. Renowned for its spectacular scenery and extreme winter conditions, the event once again lived up to expectations, delivering a rally contested entirely on snow and ice.
Victory went to Nicolas Thérond / Jean-Marc Laviale in a Subaru Impreza

This edition featured a particularly demanding programme, with 14 special stages totalling 220 timed kilometres over an overall route of 360 km, around Covasna and the Comandău plateau. Two new 30 km special stages, highly technical in nature, further increased the difficulty of the event. Weather conditions were ideal for a winter rally: snow, ice and cold were all present, providing a playing field worthy of the crews’ expectations. Snow covered all of the special stages.

After a shakedown held on the morning of Thursday, 15 January, the start was given at 16:30 for the first day of competition, with three special stages and 48 timed kilometres on the programme. At the end of this opening day, Michal Kopcek led the rally, ahead of Laurent Battut (Toyota Celica) and Nicolas Thérond.

The second day, Friday 16 January, began in thick fog. Competitors faced 110 timed kilometres spread across six special stages, including a 30 km stage run out and back. The day was marked by several retirements and mechanical problems, notably affecting Paul Chabloz, winner of the previous three editions. At the end of the day, Nicolas Thérond moved into the lead, ahead of Michal Kopacek, followed by Romain Bouchard.
