The Magnus Walker Collection Sale

RM Sotheby’s has revealed plans for a new partnership with renowned Porsche collector, designer, and automotive personality Magnus Walker, culminating in a standalone auction drawn entirely from his personal holdings. Known as The Magnus Walker Collection, the sale is set for late March and will showcase a diverse group of cars and objects amassed over many years.

At the heart of the auction will be a selection of Porsche automobiles formerly owned by Walker, complemented by a substantial array of related memorabilia and components. Although the full catalogue has yet to be published, RM Sotheby’s has indicated that up to 160 individual lots may be offered, positioning the sale as one of the most extensive private Porsche collections to appear at auction in recent times.

Walker’s association with Porsche dates back to the early 1990s, when he acquired his first example at just 25 years old. That initial purchase sparked a lifelong involvement with the marque, evolving from personal enthusiasm into a defining feature of his public profile. The forthcoming auction represents a significant moment, as Walker prepares to release a number of cars that played a central role in shaping his journey as a collector and tastemaker.

Born in Sheffield in 1967, Walker moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s, where he first found success in the fashion industry through his brand Serious Clothing. His focus later shifted decisively toward cars, earning international recognition for his distinctive approach to Porsche 911s across both air-cooled and water-cooled eras. His work has spanned collecting, restoration, and bespoke modification, establishing him as one of the most recognisable Porsche figures of his generation, with interests that also extend beyond Stuttgart through collaborations such as the Jaguar-based TWR Speedcat project.

The RM Sotheby’s auction will encompass a broad spectrum of Porsche models, from early short-wheelbase cars to later turbocharged variants, along with front-engined examples from the 1980s and 1990s. Scheduled to run from 18 to 25 March, the sale is expected to be further detailed in the weeks leading up to its launch.
