Le Mans 2026: 24 Hours of Drama

The 94th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans delivered another memorable chapter in endurance racing history, with Toyota returning to the top step of the podium after a fiercely contested battle at Circuit de la Sarthe. In front of a record crowd and under typically demanding conditions, the world's greatest endurance race once again showcased the skill, strategy, and resilience that define Le Mans.

Toyota's No. 7 GR010 Hybrid, driven by Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway, and Nyck de Vries, claimed overall victory after 24 relentless hours of competition. The Japanese manufacturer secured its sixth Le Mans win and first since 2022, finishing just seconds ahead of a hard-charging BMW that pushed Toyota all the way to the chequered flag.

The Hypercar class provided exceptional entertainment throughout the race, with BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Alpine, and Toyota all featuring prominently in the battle for honours. BMW's long-awaited return to the front of the field was one of the stories of the weekend, while Cadillac demonstrated impressive pace before reliability issues ultimately hampered its challenge.

Elsewhere, the supporting classes produced equally compelling action. Inter Europol Competition dominated the LMP2 category, while Corvette celebrated victory in LMGT3 after another hard-fought contest. As always, Le Mans proved that success requires not only outright speed but also mechanical durability, teamwork, and flawless execution over an unforgiving 24-hour period.

The 2026 edition reinforced why Le Mans remains one of motorsport's most prestigious events. With multiple manufacturers fighting for victory, packed grandstands, and thrilling racing from start to finish, endurance racing continues to enjoy a remarkable resurgence. If this year's race is any indication, the future of Le Mans has never looked brighter.

Few figures in the automotive world command as much admiration as Pink Floyd drummer and lifelong enthusiast Nick Mason. Renowned for assembling one of the finest private collections of historic competition and road cars in the world, Mason continues to share his passion with enthusiasts through special public exhibitions and events.

The latest showcase of vehicles from his famed Ten Tenths Collection attracted thousands of visitors, offering a rare opportunity to view an extraordinary selection of machinery spanning more than a century of motoring history. Highlights included iconic Ferraris, historic racing cars, and a variety of significant British and European classics.

Among the collection’s most celebrated exhibits is Mason’s legendary 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, widely regarded as one of the most valuable and desirable classic cars ever built. The collection also features notable competition machinery such as a McLaren F1 GTR, Maserati 250F, Jaguar D-Type and numerous Le Mans and Formula One veterans.

Unlike many collectors, Mason regularly exercises his cars in competition and demonstration events, believing historic vehicles should be driven rather than hidden away. His enthusiasm for motorsport has seen him compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and numerous historic racing meetings over several decades.
