One of the world's most desirable classic Ferraris has returned to the market, with a remarkable provenance that includes ownership by legendary guitarist Eric Clapton. Chassis 09261 is the second of just 31 right-hand-drive Ferrari 275 GTB/4s ever built. Delivered new in 1966, the car was originally shipped to Kenya, where it competed in East African motorsport events. Its early competition history has led some experts to suggest it may have been the first 275 GTB/4 ever raced.
Matching numbers, finished in its original Grigio Argento and Ferrari Classiche certified, it boasts an outstanding provenance, including an early competition history in Africa. Fully restored for Eric Clapton by DK Engineering in 2003–04 and recently treated to a bare-metal body restoration, it is accompanied by an extensive and well-documented history file.

The Ferrari passed through several notable owners before being acquired by Eric Clapton in 2003. A lifelong Ferrari enthusiast, Clapton commissioned a meticulous 12-month restoration by DK Engineering, returning the car to its original Grigio Argento finish while preserving its authenticity and matching-numbers status.
Powered by Ferrari's celebrated 3.3-litre quad-cam Colombo V12 producing around 300 horsepower, the 275 GTB/4 is widely regarded as one of Maranello's finest grand tourers. Only 330 examples were built between 1966 and 1968, making the model one of the most coveted Ferraris among collectors worldwide.
