Jay Kay’s Garage: Jamiroquai’s Ultimate Car Collection Today

Few musicians have combined their passion for cars with their public image quite like Jay Kay, the frontman of Jamiroquai. Famous for Cosmic Girl, Black Devil Car and an extraordinary history of collecting some of the world's most desirable automobiles, Kay has owned more than 100 cars during his lifetime. His collection has evolved considerably over the years, however, with many of the famous Ferraris, Porsches and classics that once occupied his garage subsequently sold. Today, the cars associated with his collection reflect a continuing fascination with cutting-edge performance, distinctive styling and some of the most exclusive machinery ever produced.

One of the most intriguing recent additions is the Ferrari F80, Ferrari's new-generation flagship hypercar and successor to the LaFerrari. In July 2026, photographs and reports emerged of Jay Kay collecting his new F80, providing a rare glimpse of his latest acquisition. Finished in a distinctive specification, the F80 is powered by Ferrari's hybridised 3.0-litre V6 powertrain and represents the latest chapter in the marque's limited-production halo-car lineage. For a collector with such a long association with Ferrari, the arrival of an F80 is a fitting continuation of a relationship that has included some of Maranello's most significant modern road cars.

Another standout in Kay's more recent collection is the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50, the ultra-lightweight, driver-focused supercar created by legendary designer Gordon Murray. With its central driving position, naturally aspirated Cosworth V12, six-speed manual gearbox and extraordinary attention to weight reduction, the T.50 is very much a car for an enthusiast rather than simply a status symbol. Its inclusion in Kay's collection also underlines his longstanding preference for cars with engineering character and a strong connection between driver and machine.

Kay's contemporary garage has also been associated with a particularly striking Ferrari F355 Spider, finished in Viola SE30, a colour famously associated with the Lamborghini Diablo SE30. The choice is entirely appropriate for a collector whose automotive tastes have rarely followed convention. The F355 represents a different era from the F80 and T.50, but its compact dimensions, naturally aspirated V8 and analogue character fit comfortably with Kay's appreciation for driver's cars. Alongside the modern hypercars, it demonstrates that his current interests are not simply about outright performance or price, but about personality and character.

There is an important distinction between Jay Kay's current collection and the legendary cars that have passed through his hands. The signal-green LaFerrari, Ferrari 330 GT Shooting Brake, Porsche Carrera GT, 911 Carrera RS Lightweight and Ferrari F12tdf, among many others, are now part of his remarkable ownership history rather than his present garage. The latest chapter appears to be centred around cars such as the Ferrari F80 and GMA T.50, while the full contents of his current collection remain private. What is certain is that after decades of collecting some of the world's most desirable cars, Jay Kay's automotive journey is still evolving, and, judging by his latest acquisitions, there is little sign of his fascination with extraordinary cars slowing down.

The Ultimate SLR: Stirling Moss Heads To Zurich

Few modern supercars capture the spirit of historic motor racing quite like the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss. Created in 2009 as the dramatic finale to the SLR story, just 75 examples were produced, each hand-built as a tribute to Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson's extraordinary 1955 Mille Miglia victory. Now offered for sale by long-term Classic Motors For Sale advertising partner Broad Arrow Auctions, chassis no. WDD1999761M900015 will feature at the company's 7th November 2026 Zurich Auction, carrying an estimated price of CHF 2,500,000–CHF 3,000,000.

The car's inspiration dates back to 1 May 1955, when Moss and Jenkinson set off from Brescia in their Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR. They completed the thousand-mile Mille Miglia in just 10 hours, 7 minutes and 48 seconds, averaging an incredible 157 km/h, a record that has never been beaten. More than five decades later, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren sought to translate the raw excitement of that legendary machine into a road-going supercar.

The result was unlike any conventional special edition, with the Stirling Moss deliberately stripped of a roof, windscreen and side windows to create an exceptionally direct connection between driver, car and environment.

Under its carbon-fibre bodywork sits a 5.4-litre AMG supercharged V8 producing 650 PS and 820 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes less than 3.5 seconds, while the car is capable of exceeding 300 km/h. Compared with the already lightweight SLR 722 S Roadster, the Stirling Moss was almost 200 kilograms lighter, while its aerodynamic underbody, large rear diffuser, automatically deployed airbrake and carbon-ceramic brakes were engineered to provide the performance and stability expected of such an uncompromising machine. Inside, exposed carbon fibre, brushed metal and premium leather continue the motorsport-inspired theme, with Stirling Moss's autograph engraved beside the gear lever providing a particularly evocative finishing touch.

This example was originally ordered in the Netherlands in Crystal Laurit Silver Metallic (977), complemented by the striking Black and Red 300 SL Silver Arrow leather interior. Acquired by its original and current owner in November 2009, the car has enjoyed an unusually active life for such a rare collector automobile, participating in the Mille Miglia three times, in 2012, 2015, marking the 60th anniversary of Moss and Jenkinson's famous victory, and again in 2021. Showing just 13,410 kilometres at cataloguing and benefiting from a recent service in preparation for the sale, it remains in excellent condition.

With only 75 examples ever produced, the SLR McLaren Stirling Moss occupies an exceptionally rare position in modern Mercedes-Benz history. Combining the engineering of the SLR with the visual drama and uncompromising character of a 1950s racing car, it represents a remarkable bridge between two eras of Mercedes-Benz performance. Collectors will have the opportunity to acquire this highly significant example when Broad Arrow Auctions presents it at its Zurich Auction on 7 November 2026, where it is estimated at CHF 2,500,000–CHF 3,000,000.
