Classic pickup trucks have always had a following but it seems that in the last decade or so they're desirability has really skyrocketed. There are restoration shops dedicated to their preservation and it seems like every year more classic truck exclusive shows are popping up everywhere. There are many options to choose from but one of the most consistent favorites is the "Action Line" series marketed by both Chevrolet and GMC in the early 70s. While they had similarities there were also subtle differences throughout the years. For GMC, the "Sierra" option package was introduced which would ultimately become its own trim line. This very cool 1970 GMC is very nicely built perfectly combining the classic Pickup look with modern upgrades and performance. It is a fresh build with 1,300 miles on it since completed. The body is very solid and rust free. It has new paint that was redone in a clean 2003 Dodge Silver color that has a nice shine. It is then topped off with all of its stock style Black/stainless trim, chrome grill, and chrome front/rear bumpers. "GMC" emblems are mounted on the nose and tailgate with the "GMC 1500 Sierra" emblem on both front fenders. Unlike the Chevy's the GMC had switched over to double headlights and all of lights including side markers are working properly. It has smoked glass throughout and all windows are in good condition. The truck came from the factory as a flareside but has been turned into a short bed fleetside. With that conversion the bed was tubbed to allow room for a wider rear wheels and tires. The wheels are all 15 inch Rally's with beauty rings and nice chrome center caps. Fitted to all four are P275/60R15 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.

To bring the truck into the world of modern driving it now has a 6.2 LS Vortec motor under the hood in place of its factory 350. Cooling is no problem being provided by the Champion aluminum radiator with dual electric fans in a custom shroud. The truck starts up, runs great, doesn't smoke, and has plenty of power. It sounds great too through the dual headers into 3 inch exhaust that dumps before the rear end out of Borla mufflers. The motor is paired with a smooth shifting 6L80E 4 speed automatic with overdrive and a 2800 stall torque converter. In the rear is a 12 bolt with 3.73 gears so you can cruise around town and down the highway comfortably. The brakes have all been gone through and are power assisted with a booster and proportional valve. Up front are standard GM discs and CCP discs have been added in rear. It has power steering as well so even with its classic exterior drives much smoother than it did new. The suspension has been totally rebuilt with 2 inch drop spindles up front and 4 inch springs in rear for the perfect ride height. During the build it also got a new rear sway bar and all new cab/body bushings.

The interior incorporates both Silver and Black which is in great shape throughout. The upholstery has all be redone with new door panels, new carpet, new headliner, and a reupholstered bench seat with lap belts. The dash is all nicely painted and fitted with aftermarket Classic Instrument gauges in the stock style bezel. The Vintage Air AC/Heat system blows cold and utilizes inset adjustable vents. It has a new Shiftworks floor shifter and there isn't a box in place with the thought a future owner might want to install a custom console.

This is 1 awesome pickup that was very well built. It is set up to be a great driver that shows well and as a joy to drive.
