TheSecond generation Vanquishwas introduced in 2012, this time based on Aston Martin's existing VH platform similar to the one that underpinned theDB9. Designed by Marek Reichman and made in the Gaydon facility, the VH platform Vanquish was designed to fill the shoes of the discontinued DBS.
It was unveiled at the 2012Concours dElegance Villa dEsteheld on the shores of Lake Como, Italy and shared many of the characteristics of the acclaimed Aston Martin One-77, including the aluminium bonded chassis with many carbon fibre enhancements to keep weight to a minimum to promote improved handling.
The car is powered by the Aston Martin 6.0 litre V12 engine producing some 565bhp and 465 lbft of torque which is fed through the Touchtronic 2 semi-auto gearbox with paddle controls. This gives the car a top speed of 183mph and a 0-62mph time of 4.3 seconds.
This particular car has a full Aston Martin servicinghistory and was first supplied by Aston Martin Main Dealer Murray Motor Company of Edinburgh. In more recent years has been serviced at Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell, having covered just over 19,000 miles from new.
