£275,467.40 | €315,000.00 | $367,478.74

The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500, often called "The Last Great Alfa", marked the end of a long line of six-cylinder Alfa Romeos, which began in 1928 with the 6C 1500. The 6C 2500 was introduced in 1938 and was produced until 1952.

In developing the 6C 2500, Alfa Romeo retained the independent suspension of the 6C 2300, but improved the engine. Bruno Treviso redesigned the classic straight-six engine, increasing the cylinder bore by two millimeters to a displacement of 2,5 liters and improving the cylinder head for improved aspiration and higher compression. In the case of the car offered here, these improvements were combined with the sought-after Super Sport chassis, or "SS," resulting in one of the most powerful and desirable configurations Alfa Romeo has ever offered.

This Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS, built on May 10, 1949, chassis number 915783, was sent to Pinin Farina, where it received its convertible bodywork on a sought-after short-wheelbase chassis—or Passo Corto in Italian. A certificate of origin was issued on August 8, and the car was registered on September 5, delivered in Genoa with license plate "GE 46353." The 6C, ordered new by the famous Italian sugar manufacturer Eridania Zuccherifici Nazionali, was one of the most expensive cars in the world at the time, costing Eridania 4,4 million Italian lire.

On September 25, 1957, Eridania sold the Alfa Romeo to Fidia SRL of Genoa for 300.000 lire. Fidia's owner, Mr. Antonio Luscardo, sold the car on March 24, 1971, to Mr. Arnaldo Ginocchio, who kept it until 1989, when he sold it to Mondo VI SpA. On March 30, 1995, chassis number 915873 changed hands, but a year later the car was sold to its previous owner.

On May 22, 1997, the Alfa Romeo Italian Registration Office (RIAR) approved chassis number 915873 and confirmed its certification on June 10 of that year, having met their high standards. A note on their certificate commends the car for meeting factory specifications. In 1998, this car also received an ASI identity card, which comes with it.

In 2019, the previous owner decided to part with his beloved 6C 2500 SS and sold the car on May 11 of that year to the current owner - a valued collector.

This Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS is an exceptionally well-preserved example, retaining its original interior, and has always remained in Italian hands. The car is still registered with its original Genova license plate. The bodywork is finished in Bordeaux paint, contrasting with a beige convertible top and an oxblood leather interior. The car comes with RIAR and ASI homologation papers and an Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin. Upon inspection, it was confirmed that chassis number 915783 still has the matching numbers engine.

As one of only 383 short-wheelbase examples built, and with its esteemed certification, this 6C 2500 Super Sport is sure to turn heads on public roads or at the concours. It offers a wonderful opportunity to own one of Alfa Romeo's most iconic postwar designs, perfectly suited for all major historic rallies and concours events.
Of course! The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Passo Corto Cabriolet Pinin Farina is a beautiful classic that perfectly captures the elegance and craftsmanship of the 1950s. Designed by the renowned Italian design house Pinin Farina, this car is known for its refined lines and stylish appearance.

The 6C 2500 SS Passo Corto Cabriolet was equipped with a powerful 2,5-liter six-cylinder engine, which delivered smooth and responsive performance. The "Passo Corto" part refers to the short wheelbase, which contributed to a sporty driving experience and agility. Its convertible design made it an ideal car for enjoying the open road, with a luxurious interior and attention to detail.

This car is a true icon of Italian automotive history and is still prized by collectors and enthusiasts for its timeless beauty and historical value. It's a truly magnificent example of Alfa Romeo's passion for design and performance!

This car presented here is still in top condition and retains its beautiful red leather interior. The dashboard still features the Bakelite knobs and handles. The car has a beautiful beige linen soft top, and the bodywork fits perfectly. It drives, steers, and brakes like a new car.
