The W 113 was the successor to the 190 SL and, with its various engines, positioned itself between the 190 SL and the 300 SL (gullwing/roadster). Because the 300 SL had no comparable successor, the W 113 is sometimes considered its successor.
The W 113 marked the transition from the rounded shapes of the preceding model to a more functional style. The design development, led by Paul Bracq, aimed to clearly differentiate it from its predecessor and create a more masculine appearance. Smooth surfaces, ample usable space, and the absence of decorative elements characterized the Pagoda SL. The primary sales market was the US, with a large proportion of the vehicles going to California.
This Mercedes offered here was originally delivered to America. It was then completely restored and Europeanized, with new headlights and removed side turn signals. It's a beautiful car with everything perfect. The seams fit perfectly, and the bodywork looks very straight. It also includes a beautiful new brown soft top. The interior is also still in excellent condition. Of course, the car drives as you'd expect from a Mercedes. A fantastic Pagoda for the true enthusiast.
