Unveiled at the Birmingham Motor Show in October 1992, the Virage-based V8 Vantage arrived as the marque’s first high-performance model under Ford’s ownership, its twin Eaton-supercharged 5.3-liter V8 and six-speed manual setting the tone for an unapologetically muscular finale to the Newport Pagnell Aston Martin era. With 558 PS and 752 Nm of torque on tap, the brutish Aston made even the Dodge Viper’s 466 PS and 678 Nm look modest by comparison. In 1998, Aston Martin Works Service introduced the V600 Driving Dynamics upgrade, lifting output to a claimed 608 PS and adding re-tuned suspension, uprated AP Racing brakes, and new Dymag hollow-spoke magnesium alloy wheels. Today, the V8 Vantage represents Newport Pagnell’s final hand-built bruiser, defiantly analog and torque-rich, marking the end of an era. This exceptional left-hand drive, Swiss-delivery example was completed to a bespoke specification by Aston Martin Works Service, finished in Rolls-Royce Brewster Green (9519383) over an Olive Green (VM3655) Connolly leather interior. Other appointments included an Alpine stereo system with six-disc CD changer in the trunk, engine-turned aluminum instrument panel, Conifer Green (29) carpets, and swaths of additional Olive Green leather trimming the dashboard, steering wheel, headliner, A-pillars, handbrake lever, and lower door pads. The Vantage also received the coveted V600 Driving Dynamics upgrade, boosting output to 608 PS and channeling it to the rear wheels through a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission. Remarkably, only 30 V8 Vantages were fitted with this package from the factory, with the remainder being upgraded later—this car is the 30th and final example, and one of just 12 finished in left-hand drive. The original warranty card shows the car was purchased by its first Swiss owner on 8 June 1999, and it has remained in Switzerland ever since, passing through three subsequent Swiss owners. The original service book records that chassis 70236 received its pre-delivery inspection on 5 June 1999 at Roos Engineering Ltd. in Murtenstrasse, Switzerland, and was first registered on 10 June. Subsequent service stamps and invoices on file detail a life of continuous maintenance performed by Aston Martin Works Service and marque specialists, including services in June 1999 at 1,850 km, June 2005 at 5,314 km, June 2008 at 6,391 km, June 2011 at 11,165 km, May 2013 at 14,049 km, December 2015 at 16,286 km, July 2018 at 17,063 km, and March 2021 at 17,676 km. Offered with just 18,281 km at the time of listing and retained by its current owner since 2018, this V600-equipped Vantage represents a rare opportunity to acquire the final hand-built GT to emerge from Newport Pagnell.
