First introduced in 1985 as the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), the original Hummer served exclusively in military roles before its civilian debut in 1992. Much of its battlefield engineering carried over unchanged, giving the truck a unique tactical character. It could ford two and a half feet of water, push through deep snow, climb loose sand, and work confidently across rugged terrain. Protected driveline components were routed through reinforced tubes to protect against impacts. The result was a road-legal vehicle with commanding presence and genuine go-anywhere capability—bold, distinctive, and unmistakably shaped by its military origins. This 1995 AM General Hummer H1 is one of just 260 open four-passenger examples with full doors produced that year. It is believed to be the only example finished in the metallic blue shade with paint meter readings indicating original paint. According to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, it was first registered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in November 1995. Remarkably, it remained with its original owner for 27 years before it passed to another Calgary resident in February 2022. From there, the car was imported to the U.S. in November 2024 with only its third steward and current owner. It sports 20-inch Off Road TIS body color-matched wheels with Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) shod with large 35x12.5-inch Toyo Open Country tires. CTIS allows the driver to inflate or deflate the H1’s tires on the move, adjusting pressures to suit changing terrain and dramatically improving mobility and comfort both off-road and on. The interior has been upgraded with custom two-tone black-and-blue upholstery, with additional seating for two added between the two original rear seats. Additionally, the truck was upgraded with an impressive Pioneer Bluetooth stereo and an Alpine amplifier, or with the option to use the two Alpine wireless headphones when more discretion is required. More than 30 years since its launch, the Hummer H1 remains one of the most recognizable vehicles produced. They have been praised for their military-inspired design, go-anywhere capabilities, and ease of customization. As a result, finding a nicely presented, low-mileage example such as this H1 Four-Door Soft-Top Pickup with less than 29,000 miles is becoming an increasingly difficult task, making this the ideal example that is sure to draw attention both on and off the road.
