The BMW Z8 (E52) is a two-door roadster produced by the German automobile manufacturer BMW and designed by a team of designers led by Chris Bangle, of whom Henrik Fisker is perhaps the best known. The supercar is the production model of the BMW Z07, which was released as a concept car in 1997. The Z8 was introduced at the 1999 Frankfurt Motor Show and was produced from April 2000 to July 2003. The designers of the Z07, who presented the car at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show, were inspired by the BMW 507, a popular but rare sports car from the 1950s. Because the Z07 received such positive reviews, BMW decided to produce the car almost unchanged, but with a different name.
