The body of the car is completely original. The sheet metal is nice and thin and original throughout. The car stands on the well-known bottle cap wheels, which are also in very good condition and equipped with good tires in the correct sizes. The moldings on the body are in good condition as are the bumpers and lighting. The car is equipped with a manually operated brown convertible top that is also in very good condition and fits nicely everywhere. The paint has only very light traces of use that match the age and mileage of the car.
The interior is lined with wonderfully supple brown leather and looks beautiful. The upholstery on both the seats and the door panels are in very good condition, as is the upholstery on top of the dashboard. The car is also equipped with climate control and an automatic transmission. The carpets are in very good condition and fit nicely everywhere. The instruments and controls are all completely original and look beautiful.
The technology has been well maintained over the years. The engine runs beautifully and the automatic transmission shifts wonderfully smoothly. This is an SL with a 3.8 liter V8, which in this case is coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission. The SL has independent wheel suspension all around and therefore has a wonderful handling. The brakes are well suited to their task and are also in very good condition. The engine produces 218 hp and gives the car a top speed of 215 kilometers per hour. In all respects a car that is in no way inferior to a modern car. The R107 was so far ahead of its time that it still feels very modern today, which is not given to every 40-year-old car.
In short, a beautiful European delivered Mercedes-Benz 380SL in a very attractive color scheme and with a wonderfully low mileage.
