- Introduced in 1972, the Saab 99 EMS (Electronic Manual Special) was conceived to inject a more overtly sporting character into the 99 range and to underpin Saab’s growing works rally ambitions, acting as the crucial stepping stone to the later and now-iconic 99 Turbo
- Powered by Saab’s 2.0-litre (1985 cc) overhead camshaft inline-four with Bosch D-jetronic fuel injection (from 1974) offering 118bhp and 123lb.ft fed through a manual four-speed gearbox
- Finished in Sterling Silver, this example was first registered in April 1974 as PSF 656M, later wearing the cherished registration JOY 99 from 1984 under its second ownership
- Notably maintained by its original supplying dealer, St Clair Motors of Kirkcaldy, before passing into its current (third) ownership in 2009
- Subject to a documented glass and trim-out respray in 1992 and sympathetic recommissioning carried out between 2013 and 2019 using Saab branded parts
