1991 Ford SIERRA SAPPHIRE
£35,000.00 | €40,271.56 | $47,512.36

Estimated Price: £30,000 - £35,000

This Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth Rouse Sport 304-R, chassis #47, is one of just 100 examples commissioned by Rouse Sport, of which only 78 were ultimately completed. Developed at the height of the Sierra Cosworth era, the 304-R represented the ultimate road-going expression of the platform.

On offer here is a four-wheel drive 304-R finished in striking Moondust Silver with a black leather interior and featuring distinctive Rouse-specific body styling, including extended sill panels, a front splitter and a lower rear valance. These enhancements not only improved aerodynamic efficiency but also gave the car a noticeably more purposeful stance. Subtle Rouse badging further distinguishes it from the standard Sierra Sapphire Cosworth.

The history file is extensive and compelling and includes the original sales receipt from Godfrey Davis of Paddington confirming delivery to the Heating & Ventilating Contractors Association in Moondust Silver with a black leather interior at a total cost of £28,950. The original Ford service book documents the car’s maintenance by the supplying dealer between 1991 and 1995, over which period it covered 84,256 miles in the hands of its first owner. Acquired by its second owner in 1996, the car was placed into heated storage around the year 2000 from where it was purchased by our vendor in 2013 with a recorded mileage of 89,240.

Since then, the Rouse has been professionally dry stored as part of a collection of rare ‘rally-inspired’ vehicles, covering just 85 miles in the last 13 years meaning that it has travelled a little over 5,000 miles in the last 30 years.

Significant recent recommissioning and maintenance has been carried out by Retroclassic Engineering of Gloucester, including; Comprehensive inspection of the engine including an internal borescope inspection, compression and leakdown test, providing the engine a clean bill of health; New cambelt, water pump, crankshaft/camshaft oil seals and other various gaskets; New Burton Power high-flow radiator; New spark plugs, HT leads and a new distributor cap; A full fluid service has been carried out including engine oil/filter, gearbox oil, differential oil, new engine coolant and power steering fluid; Air filter/fuel filter replaced; Fuel injectors professionally tested, cleaned and serviced; New fuel pipes and fuel pressure regulator; Reconditioned steering rack and replacement tie rod ends; Replacement front suspension bushes; Four new tyres of the correct 225/50/15 Rouse Sport specification; Lanoguard underbody protection carried out; MOT Test (passed, no advisories).

Offered with its V5C registration document, original sales receipt, service book, Rouse Sport authenticity documentation and a selection of expired MOT certificates, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most exclusive and collectable Sierra Cosworth derivatives ever produced.
