The Yamaha TY80 is a classic junior trials motorcycle, widely considered the gold standard for introducing young riders to off-roading. Part of the legendary TY (Trials Yamaha) series designed with input from champion Mick Andrews; it remained in production with few changes from 1974 to 1984.
This bike is offered as part of the Adam White collection and has been in long term dry storage and has had the fuel drained. The bikes in the collection have been regularly taken out and started up but they will need a degree of re-commissioning and attention to batteries. Obviously having been long term stored things like tyres and brakes will need looking at prior to any road use.
The bike has been stored for several years but was “put away running”. We can see the front inner tube requires replacing. It is quite presentable as is but would make a great base for a restoration for these ever-appreciating machines.
