What started life as a black Mini Designer is now something very different - having been completely gone through and upgraded in the current vendors ownership.

Firstly, the Mini was stripped with all requisite welding and repairs being undertaken before a new coat of white paint was applied at a cost of £4,000 (receipt on file). It was de-bumpered at the same time, and wide, colour coded arches added in addition to two replacement doors.

In parallel, Mini Sport were employed to rebuild the original engine with a modified 998 head and tricky cam (Kent 500) with an HS4 SU carb and cone filter at a cost of over £5,000. Please note that the engine is still being run in and operating instructions are included in the file together with a booklet summarising the full engine specification. It is believed the engine is now pushing out in the region of 75 bhp - although we have no evidence of this.

The overall effect of these upgrades is impressive. The paintwork is in great condition courtesy of being ceramic coated and the Mini looks sporty and purposeful. Perspex windows are also fitted to the front doors together with bullet mirrors. We are told the Mini is fitted with Hi-Los and this certainly contributes to its lowered aggressive stance. The vendor has purchased some Martini-style decals although these are not yet fitted.

The interior is stripped out and functional with a very attractive (and expensive) oval binnacle fitted comprising of a 130 mph speedo and several auxiliary gauges. The speedo does not appear to be working and the oil temperature gauge is not connected. Bucket seats are also fitted to complete the look plus a roll cage and a small diameter steering wheel. The headliner is a little loose and could do with attention.

Under the bonnet is clean and tidy and it appears an uprated radiator is fitted.

In summary, this is a chance to purchase a Mini at a fraction of the cost of the expenditure lavished on it over the last few years, so don’t miss out!
