  • Fantastic service history
  • Enthusiast owned
  • Becoming rare and desirable
  • One of the best handling cars you can buy

Here we have a very interesting car, a Honda S2000 finished in grey with black leather and a black hood. The S2000 changed the world and the way we think about a sports car that involves the driver in every way. The way it handles and loves high revs, there is not a lot like it out there to compete with it, and you have that legendary Honda reliability and history behind it.

This example has led a charmed life, judging by the paperwork. It includes a host of invoices and receipts, a whole collection of MOTs, its original service pack, spare key and a service book containing 12 stamps. The Honda is sat on a matching set of Yokohama tyres and has a competition clutch, which is not used for competition purposes, but is a clutch that works better on the road with a high revving car such as this. Another nice thing is there are some stickers on the windscreen telling you it has been enthusiast owned, including some that tell us that it has been to Le Mans a few times and it was a member of the S2000 Owner’s Club. Probably the best thing though, is the information the vendor has put together in a very meticulous spreadsheet detailing work carried out. This is something you don’t see very often, but more importantly it shows the attention to detail it has enjoyed.

The Honda was subject to an insurance claim on 20/02/2005, although the history shows it has been serviced and MOT’d many times since and, most importantly, it passed a Vehicle Identity Check with VOSA. This is documented within the history and comes in the form of a report from H.W. Bell & Co. Ltd.

PLEASE NOTE: This Lot is recoded on HPI as ‘Category C Insurance Loss. Vehicle extensively damaged but repairable - Insurer decided not to repair 20/02/2005’ and ‘VIC PASS: This vehicle has had an identity check carried out by VOSA. The V5 will state: substantially repaired and/or accident damaged: identity checked on 18/10/2006’.
