The Bentley Continental GT, introduced in 2003, marked a pivotal moment in Bentley's history as it signalled the brand's revival under Volkswagen Group ownership. It was the first Bentley to be produced using mass production techniques, combining luxury with high-performance engineering. The Continental GT was powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine, producing over 550 horsepower, and featured all-wheel drive, which was a departure from Bentley’s traditional rear-wheel-drive models. With its mix of cutting-edge technology, opulent interior, and unmistakable design, the Continental GT became an instant success, broadening Bentley's appeal to a new generation of buyers. Capitalising on that success, Bentley introduced the GTC with its triple-lined fabric roof in 2006. Famously, Bentley alleged a top speed of 200 mph with the top up, 195 mph top down.

We are pleased to offer this 2006 Bentley Continental GTC in Dark Sapphire with Magnolia / Nautic Blue leather and a blue hood. First registered in the UK in September 2012, it would appear to have lived in another right hand drive territory. The Bentley has a strong service history with no less than 15 recorded services at nice regular intervals. The most recent service was in August last year at 73,636 miles.

From the outside the Bentley presents really nicely, Dark Sapphire being a sophisticated shade of blue that suits the refined lines. The handsome 20” alloys contrast beautifully with the dark paint and appear free of kerbing. The restrained elegance continues inside with high quality Magnolia hide and Nautic Blue secondary leather together with blue carpets. It can be hard to keep pale leather clean over 20 years and 70,000 miles but the cabin has weathered well with just a gentle patina and the odd mark. These GTC roofs are something special, triple layered with a super thick middle layer to provide maximum acoustic and thermal insulation and an inner layer which hides all the mechanical parts. Indeed, when inside you would think you were in coupe rather than a convertible, right down to the vanity light in the middle of the roof. There’s a little wear showing to the outer layer but no staining on the inside to indicate any leaks. The specification is as high as you would expect from a luxury GT, with all the usual toys.

Arguably, the best luxury grand tourer of the last 20 years, every journey in a Continental GTC is an event from the delicious-sounding and mega-powerful W12 quad-turbo motor, the fabulous ride / handling balance courtesy of sophisticated air suspension, to the beauty and tactility of the finest interior materials. Being so useable means that many have had hard lives, with high miles and tatty interiors. This is not one of those examples. On the contrary, the general condition and strong service history suggest a series of caring owners and a Bentley that represents an exceptional value proposition.
