Offered here is a 1931 Singer Light Six Saloon, presented in Black over Cream with a lovely original specification Brown interior. These cars are the perfect passport to British pre-war car ownership, with plenty of power from the six-cylinder engine, evenly spread via the four-speed manual gearbox. The Singer presents well throughout, however, being 95 years old it would always benefit from a little recommissioning as you may expect - that doesn’t mean it is a bad example, it is not. The Singer has recently played a part in a major British film, Fackham Hall, in which it played its part very well. Whilst you may think this is a small production, just think of the Aston Martin DB5 that was used in the first Bond film may have had the same impact and we all know where that ended up! You never know…
With a number of helpful clubs to join, this Singer will be perfect to show off at this year’s show season whilst enjoying 1930s family motoring down some of our country’s finest ‘B’ roads. All that said, this needs to be kept on the road and maybe in future films, but most importantly it just wants to be enjoyed and used. This is the type of car that will always put a smile on your face and will happily help you enjoy those lazy summer afternoons.
As well as its current film stardom and future legendary status (maybe!), the best thing is that it is being offered at no reserve. Who knows, maybe all those years ago a certain Aston Martin DB5 may have gone through an auction, just a thought.
