Here we have a lovely example of the very popular BMW E36 convertible, fitted with the bullet proof 1800 engine and mated to the manual gearbox. This BMW is finished in Boston green with grey cloth and a black hood. The hood is manual, which is a good thing, as power hoods on E36 BMWs could be tricky - no such problems with this example. It is in lovely condition, having been in a very high end car collection. You may wonder why this has been sat with some very expensive cars in a collection, but when you see it you will understand. It represents something to the vendor, but unfortunately the collection is being toned down due to relocation.

The specification is fantastic in its simplicity, no gadgets or electronics, just pure Germanic BMW features. It does benefit from a set of 18” MV alloys, has slightly lowered suspension and is colour coded giving it a great look. On these wheels, with the colour and the black hood, it is something of a looker. The hood is in lovely condition as is the whole car. This is not your average BMW E36, it is much better than that and deserves to be kept so.

The BMW was supplied new by Halliwell Jones BMW in Southport on 23/10/1997. It still retains its original book pack with the salesman’s business card in it - Mr Ron Thomas, who was a lovely man - and comes with its handbooks and manuals along with a service book containing 6 service stamps, 2 brake fluid changes and a body inspection. Also included are a sprinkling of invoices and past MOT history. The MOT history is very good, hence the reason it was chosen to be put into this private collection.

BMW E36s are becoming quite hard to find now, especially in this condition and specification. They are very much on the march in price, and it is nice to find one that is unmolested and not ruined. You will not be disappointed, especially as it is being offered at no reserve. Someone is in for a treat!
