Vendor describes:
For sale is our beautiful 1959 Vespa 150, owned by us since June 2017. Unfortunately, it has become more of a house ornament than a machine to be enjoyed on the road, so ita€™s time for it to go to someone who will truly appreciate it.
About the Model
The Vespa was originally developed by the Italian aircraft company Piaggio as simple transport for its workforce in Pontedera. The concept was brought to the UK in 1948 by Claude McCormack of Douglas (Kingswood) Ltd, with the Douglas Vespa being manufactured under licence and closely based on the original Italian design.
Following its launch in March 1951, the Vespa quickly became a cultural icon, later forming the backbone of 1960s Mod culture.
