The VII Series - the most dynamic and desirable Lambda
The Lancia Lambda VII Series, produced only in 1927, is considered the most refined and high-performing version of this revolutionary model. It introduced:
A lighter body structure
Refined dynamics with improved suspension
Advanced independent front suspension (a world-first for production cars)
Enhanced V4 engine performance
The “short Torpedo” body is among the rarest and most agile configurations, ideal for historic hill climbs and concours.
History - From the UK to Switzerland, reborn in Italy
Originally delivered new to the UK in 1927, this car was acquired in 1974 by a Swiss enthusiast in Lausanne, who preserved it with the hope of restoring it.
After decades without success, in 2005, he reluctantly sold the car to a prominent Italian collector of prewar sports cars.
A comprehensive and historically correct restoration was undertaken from 2005 to 2010, including:
A full engine rebuild by one of the most renowned Lambda engine specialists
Interior reupholstered in custom-made amaranto leather matching the original grain and color
Bodywork and chassis fully restored and repainted in the original Amaranto, as confirmed by hidden panels and archive photos
Technical features and original period equipment
Rebuilt V4 engine 2,370 cc (still in break-in phase)
Top speed over 130 km/h, with smooth performance on hills
New “straight” spoke wheels with ring, a rare original accessory allowing tire changes without removing the wheel from the hub
Complete black soft-top with leather cover and removable side windows
Certification and Documentation
Certified for Historical Significance by the Fiat Historic Registry (2016)
First registered in Italy in December 2016
Regularly road-tested and inspected:
2021: at 2,056 km
2024: at 2,358 km
Next due: July 2026
