Engine No. F113B26091
Owing its name to the fabled 500 and 250 Testa Rossa race cars of the 1950s, Ferrari's latest flagship made its debut under the dazzling lights of the Lido Nightclub ahead of the 1984 Paris Salon. The Testarossa replaced the outgoing Boxer series, and with it, the razor-sharp wedge profile of its predecessor. It now featured a more soft-edged, aerodynamic shape. The iconic side door intakes channeled air to the 5.0-liter flat V12, which produced a production car record output of 390 PS and boasted a top speed of 285 km/h. It was also the most civilized Ferrari of its day, with luxury touches including air conditioning, power-adjustable seats, a tilting steering wheel, and acres of leather lining the interior.
Ordered in 1991 via the famous Auto Becker dealership in Düsseldorf for the fabulous sum of 297,279.99 DM, this Testarossa is one of the very few examples still with the original owner after 35 years from delivery. Chassis number 88494, finished in Rosso Corsa, is extensively documented with its original order, receipt for the down payment, and a letter that the car must not be sold within the minimum holding period of one year. The original invoice and a special Testarossa leather folder with the owner's manual and the complete service book in its original leather folder are also still present. Additionally, it includes its toolkit and jack.
This Testarossa received a service carried out in July 2021 at 36,927 km by Robert Fehr Reparaturwerkstatt in Grünberg, Germany. The work included a routine engine oil and filter change and new brake fluid. Prior to this, the car was serviced in September 2018 at 36,746 km and in June 2013 at 34,028 km, both of which were major maintenance including timing belt changes. Most recently, in November 2025 at 37,379 kilometers the car was fitted with four new Michelin Pilot Sport tires and received an engine and gearbox out Major Service that included a new timing belt and tensioner, a water pump reseal with fresh coolant, new brake and clutch fluid, an engine oil change, new intake manifold seals, and more with a full accounting of the service work performed on file and available for review.
This Testarossa presents a rare opportunity to acquire and drive an iconic Italian poster car, and in classic color combination form its original owner, no less. Now offered for sale with a recent service and just 37,379 km at the time of cataloging, this Testarossa presents beautifully and stands as a modern classic-one that clearly illustrates why the model has commanded collectors' attention since its debut.
