Estimated Price: £8,000 - £10,000
- An off-road, two-wheel drive motorcycle developed by Yamaha in 2003/2004 in conjunction with Ohlins for endurance racing purposes
- 15-30% of the drive is delivered to the front wheel via an Ohlins gear-driven hydraulic system
- High-pressure hoses power the front wheel with a small hydraulic motor fitted in the unique front hub
- Praised by riders, especially on loose terrain, demonstrated by David Fretigne who finished 7th overall with a class win in the 2004 Dakar Rally
- Produced for one year only, unfortunately the bike was hideously expensive and became a sales failure, now highly sought after by collectors
- This virtually unused and almost as new example is presented in very good overall condition, still has some protective covering in place
- Owned by a UK private collector for years until purchased by our vendor 5 years ago
- UK registered on a 2007 V5C although the year of manufacture is 2004
- Fitted whilst still almost new with replacement plastics, whilst they were available, to preserve the originals, with its original complete set included
- Recently running, fitted with a new battery (disconnected) but might need some basic safety checks before road use
- Featured in the VJMC owners club magazine with a copy included
- Complete with a small history file containing an owners service manual, number plate, old MOT and some other paperwork
- Super rare bike and a great addition to any Yamaha or Dakar Rally collection
- UK-registered on a current V5C
