We are very pleased to bring this lovely looking high specification BMW Z3 1.9 Roadster to market. This example has been in the care of gentleman who has cherished it even though it has had little use. He has really cared for this Z3, which is evident in its appearance, it is lovely. There are a few age related marks, as you would expect, but the way it sits and how clean it is tells you it’s been loved, The only reason for the sale is that the vendor is retiring and wants to go driving round Europe for a while and he thinks the Z may be just a little too small for him, his wife, and suitable luggage. Although having said that, he did have a ‘wobble’ when it came to us thinking he could make it work - thankfully for us and whoever buys it, he has left it with us.
The Z3 comes with a good mileage related history, and comes in the form of a service book containing 6 stamps (mostly BMW main dealer), and a host of invoices and receipts. This is accompanied by its full book pack with the manuals and instruction books, along with some older MOTs which sit very nicely with the fresh one just carried out. We also have the V5 and a clear HPi, which shows it has only hade 3 previous owners, the vendor having owned it since 2014. The Roadster was supplied new by Halliwell Jones in Chester on 1/8/1988 and all the stamps in the service book are from them, as are a lot of the invoices.
The specification is lovely, with such niceties as the bespoke ‘Z’ Star alloy wheels, sports steering wheel, power hood, heated seats, chrome side vents, and the factory hard top. A great high specification for a Z3 and in the day would have made this an expensive example. When it was launched by BMW, it was designed to be a ‘retro’ roadster with very little specification. Someone thought different when they ordered this example, and we are grateful today that they did. As good as the specification is, the best bit is that it is finished in bright red with black leather. The fact that it has been well cared for, makes it really ‘pop’ when you see it in the metal. But don’t take our word for it, take a closer look and see what you think, you won’t be disappointed.
