The Aston Martin V8 Volante is a high-performance luxury convertible that represents the final evolution of the original DBS-based V8 series. By 1988, it featured electronic fuel injection and was known for its hand-built quality and ‘brutal’ styling. The heart of the 1988 Volante is a 5.3-litre light-alloy V8 engine which gave some very impressive performance whilst giving the upmost comfort and smoothness, a great combination to have and to be expected in a car such as this.

We are exceptionally pleased to bring to market this stunning Aston Martin V8 Volante finished in the most amazing colour combination of light sky blue metallic with contrasting magnolia seats piped in blue to match the exterior, all brought together with a blue hood. A fantastic combination which makes it look very fresh. This example was one of the last built and sent to America in 1988, as most of the last builds were. Many were sold to celebrities, heads of business and such likes, as the price was very high - and why not, it is an Aston Martin after all. It is not known who bought it, but we do know from insurance paperwork in the book pack that it was owned between 2005 to 2006 by a Mr David Vonderohe.

The accompanying paperwork is later UK information, quite normal on an import from the US, and includes invoices detailing recent expenditure which are quite considerable but not too high, indicating it has been cared for which is always nice to see. We also have the original book pack with the owner’s manual, instruction books and supplementary details, along with some older MOTs which sit very nicely with the fresh one just carried out. There is also import paperwork confirming duties were paid, prior to being UK registered. It has just been through a cherished transfer, having worn a very expensive private plate, as confirmed by the HPi which is clean with no markers.

The Aston would appear to be very much standard factory original specification, and as it left Newport Pagnell back in 1988 on its voyage of life. These are very hard to find in this condition, and are surely a good future investment or something to be enjoyed and cherished, as it deserves to be.
