Porsche's 924 is a solidly reliable everyday sports coupe with remarkable versatility. Using many contemporary VW Golf parts with an underlying Porsche design philosophy, its 2+2 packaging is clever, with an almost ideal 53/47 weight distribution, delivering extremely balanced handling. The later 924S offered the 944's more powerful 2.5 litre, all alloy overhead cam engine, plus most of the 944's improved interior, brakes and suspension. The engine's ultra smooth power delivery and 160bhp transformed the driving enjoyment and mark this model out as the range's best for everyday use.

This 1986 Alpine White example has spent the past four years in the care of a committed Porsche 924 Owners Club member. The bodywork was fully resprayed in its original colour, and the cabin was completely reupholstered in black pinstripe velour prior to our vendor purchasing it in late 2021. The interior remains in great order; another point to note is the dashboard, which is intact unlike many others on the market, and shows no cracks. Our vendor fitted a Momo Prototipo steering wheel, which has significantly improved the car's handling (the original wheel is supplied with the car). Modifications are light and include a Dansk exhaust - fitted prior to his ownership -a replacement clutch master and slave cylinders - fitted in 2023 - and a new battery fitted in late 2025. The odometer was replaced, with the change logged on file, and while the current mileage shows 45,088, this number will increase as our vendor continues to use the car regularly.

Throughout his ownership, our vendor has taken the car to France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Switzerland, as well as many motoring highlights in the UK, including displaying the car at the 2025 Hampton Court Concours of Elegance. Garaged throughout his ownership, he has had the car carefully and thoroughly maintained by marque-specialist Philip Raby in Bosham, who fitted a new clutch in 2023. This 924S is supplied with a current MoT test certificate and, importantly, it will be ULEZ-compliant from January 2027. Combined with two keys (and a valet key) and an extensive history file, this is an excellent entry-level sportscar; classic, capable and comfortable which surely should not be missed.
