Did you know that the legendary Porsche 911 Turbo (930) is essentially a “child of the racetrack”? The project began as “Project 930,” with Porsche aiming to translate its racing expertise into a road car. Its development was closely tied to Group 4 homologation requirements, which meant Porsche had to build a limited number of road cars to qualify for competition. The result, however, was so spectacular that the world instantly fell for it, and production was quickly expanded. And understandably so—the Turbo became Porsche's flagship and the ultimate dream car for an entire generation.
The 930 Turbo is legendary in every sense. While the original 3.0-liter version in 1975 already made a deep impression, the car truly came into its own in 1978 with the introduction of the 3.3-liter engine. Thanks to the addition of an intercooler, output increased to an impressive 300 horsepower. It became one of the fastest-accelerating road cars of its time, capable of sprinting from standstill to 100 mph in around 14 seconds. A car that made its mark not only with its raw performance but also with its unmistakable design: the wide, flared wheel arches and the iconic “tea tray” rear spoiler, which not only improved engine cooling but also provided additional stability at high speeds.
This particular example dates from 1983 and, with just 30,000 kilometers, is a stunning representative of that era. It was originally ordered in Germany with a range of “Sonderwunsch” options. Today, this program is known as Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, the department responsible for fulfilling the most special customer requests. At the time, such options were reserved only for the brand's most loyal and affluent clients.
This Turbo was factory-equipped with an electric sunroof, a custom audio system, and the outstanding Recaro Ideal “C” seats, offering exceptional support during spirited driving. The interior was already among the most luxurious available in a 911, with leather upholstery as standard, but these specific extras elevate this example to an even higher level of exclusivity.
What truly sets this 930 apart in today's market is its authenticity. The car is “truly original and pure.” An honest example in very good condition, featuring beautiful paintwork, excellent panel fit, and a meticulously maintained interior. The full history is thoroughly documented and supported by an extensive file of invoices as well as the Porsche Geburtsurkunde. Maintenance has been carried out by a renowned Porsche specialist.
