- Of the different 749 models available, the 749R was by far the most special, an homologation race bike for the road which cost almost twice as much as its stablemates when new
- The 749R differed greatly from the other models, the engine had a shorter stroke and larger bore meaning higher revs and more power
- This Mk2 is fitted with lightweight high-tech polymer panels along with Marchesini lightweight wheels, Ohlins suspension and Brembo radial brakes
- Built in limited numbers, this bike is #013 of around 1,200 built between 2004 and 2006
- This unrestored and mostly original example is showing only 8,700 miles and is in running order
