We are delighted to offer this increasingly collectible 1990 Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9, widely regarded as one of the greatest hot hatches ever produced by Peugeot.
The 1.9 GTi represents the most desirable version of the 205 range, offering sharper performance, wider track and a more planted driving experience than the earlier 1.6. Today, genuine and unspoilt examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Finished in red with a factory sunroof, this example presents very well externally, with straight panels, good paintwork and a clean, original appearance. It appears to have been dry stored, which is reflected in its overall condition. Notably, the GTi retains its original exhaust system, a rare and desirable feature that further supports its originality.
Inside, it retains its correct black leather bolsters with burgundy patterned cloth centres, all of which present in very nice condition, along with clean carpets and dashboard, giving a strong sense of originality throughout the cabin.
The 205 is supplied with a Peugeot workshop manual along with a black document folder containing the original book pack and service book, which includes early stamped entries.
The Peugeot has spent periods off the road between 2007-2011, 2011-2019, briefly returning to MOT use in 2019-2020, and has since been stored again. As such, while it starts, runs and drives well, it would benefit from light recommissioning before regular use. The only noted requirement is a handbrake cable.
A very honest and well-preserved example, offering an excellent opportunity to acquire a genuine and increasingly sought-after 205 GTi 1.9.
