We are pleased to offer this increasingly rare 1968 Ford Transit Mk1 Pickup, an early example of one of the most iconic commercial vehicles ever produced by Ford Motor Company.

Introduced in 1965, the Mk1 Transit revolutionised the light commercial vehicle market, offering improved practicality, load capacity and driving comfort compared to its rivals. Its success was immediate, quickly becoming the backbone of British industry throughout the late 1960s and beyond. Today, early Mk1 examples, particularly pickup variants, are becoming exceptionally scarce, with very few surviving in presentable condition.

This example is finished in red, which is correctly recorded on the V5, although it is understood to have undergone a colour change at some point in its life. The truck presents in excellent overall condition, and it has benefited from a previous restoration, with the bodywork, paint and overall finish all showing to a high standard.

While unfortunately the history file has been lost over time, the condition strongly suggests careful restoration and subsequent maintenance. The odometer displays 41,220 miles, which cannot be verified but is in keeping with the overall presentation.

It has been in the current ownership since 2022 and is offered with its V5 registration document.
