The Land Rover Defender Tomb Raider is a highly distinctive and very rare limited-edition model produced in 2001 to coincide with Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, famously associated with Angelina Jolie. Based on the Defender 90 and 110, it retained the standard 2.5-litre Td5 diesel engine. Finished in Bonatti Grey, it was equipped with an external roll cage, expedition roof rack, A-frame bull bar, auxiliary spotlights, chequer-plate protection and snorkel, reflecting the rugged aesthetic of the film vehicles. Just 250 examples were produced in total, making it an exceptionally rare and collectible variant, prized primarily for its striking appearance and strong cinematic provenance.

The example offered here has been in its current enthusiast ownership since 2004, with just one prior keeper, it has clearly been very well cared for throughout its life. Now showing 144,000 miles, it benefits from a comprehensive service history and a number of thoughtful upgrades, including a galvanised chassis, raised suspension and a modified exhaust system for improved performance. Central locking has also been added for everyday usability, while it retains its distinctive Tomb Raider specification and character. A substantial restoration was completed in 2020 at a cost exceeding £22,000, with invoices of over £40,000 on file since 2018. The vehicle is now in excellent condition, but our vendor does note the roof rack and the mounting points for it on the body now require some corrosion repair.
