Introduced as part of Chevrolet's highly successful mid-size range, the Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu became one of the defining American cars of the 1960s and 1970s. Positioned as a more refined and comfortable offering within the Chevelle line-up, the Malibu combined everyday usability with the option of strong V8 performance. By 1974, the model had evolved into a larger, more softly styled cruiser, reflecting changing market demands and tightening emissions regulations. Available in a variety of body styles, the Malibu appealed to a broad audience and remains recognised today for its distinctive proportions, period charm and enduring place in American automotive history.
This UK registered 1974 Chevelle Malibu was imported in 2022 from a US Pennsylvania museum where it had resided for over two decades and we are informed this contributed to the low mileage found on the car which is believed to be correct. With the 5.7 litre V8 coupled to an automatic transmission it boasts the original factory build sheet and original owner's manual. It is presented in very good condition with the bodywork and interior both original but commensurate with what is believed to be the original mileage. Inside, there is an aftermarket custom centre console which can be removed and but for one slight repairable tear it is a very pleasant and nostalgic place to be. The striking colour adds to the feel, the car starts and runs as it should and is supplied with rear wheel spacers (not fitted) to give the car a wider 'stance' should the new owner wish to fit them, it is also accompanied by a spare set of leads and plugs for as and when they need them. Described by our vendor as 'a very clean and tidy original American classic in a striking head turning colour which never fails to attract attention as it cruises past'. Consigned by Mathew Priddy
