Estimated Price: £50,000 - £55,000

Officially launched at the Paris Motor Show in October 2014, the Mercedes-AMG GT is historically significant as only the second sports car developed entirely by Affalterbach-based AMG, the first being the SLS AMG. Styled in-house by a team headed by Robert Lešnik, the Mercedes-AMG GT restated the traditional 'long bonnet, small cabin, short tail' sports car look in a manner suggesting muscular horsepower whilst retaining all the elegance associated with Mercedes-Benz. Although it used conventional doors rather than the SLS's 'Gullwing' type - the latter first seen on the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL coupé of the 1950s - the GT featured numerous styling references to its illustrious distant ancestor and was an instant hit with buyers..

Boasting a chassis/body of mainly aluminium construction, the GT is powered by a hand-built M178 V8 engine. Positioned well back in the wheelbase for better weight distribution, this mighty power plant produces 469bhp in the mainstream model with 515bhp on offer in the AMG GT-S, as seen here. The transmission consists of a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox incorporated into a rear transaxle, again with ideal weight distribution in mind (Mercedes claim what it calls an optimum 47%/53% front/rear split). Other key mechanical differences that the GT-S gains over the GT include an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, 'Race Mode' and 'Race Start' settings in the AMG Dynamic Select adaptive drive-train, AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension, and an AMG Performance Exhaust System.

The Premium equipment line enhances the standard GT-S specification with several high-end features including a Panoramic glass roof, Burmester surround sound system, Keyless-Go, reversing camera/Parktronic, and the Memory Package which includes electrically adjustable seats, steering column, and mirrors with memory functions.

This stunning, UK-supplied, right-hand drive example dates from 2017 and is superbly presented in Brilliant Blue Metallic over a classic Mercedes-Benz black Nappa leather interior and sits on 19" front and 20" rear AMG forged cross-spoke alloy wheels, fitted with 265/35 and 295/20 tyres respectively. In addition to the 'Premium' package detailed above, it was ordered from new with the AMG Silver Chrome Package (high-gloss black air inlet and outlet grilles, bonnet and wing vents, a diamond grille with chrome pins, and silver chrome detailing to the front splitter and rear diffuser) and additionally specified with the AMG High-Gloss Carbon Fibre Trim package which included further silver chrome and carbon fibre detailing. We understand that, when new ,the purchase price was a substantial £116,475.

Enjoyed over recent years by five previous registered keepers, the odometer indicated just 19,444 miles at the time of photography with only 500 of these being covered by our vendor who modestly admits 'I purchased the car in July last year, a friend of mine has one and told me how great they are to drive. I must say he was right, the car responds to everything you would wish for, certainly handling and performance being two major ones but, to be frank, it’s a little bit to fast for me at my age.'

The car was serviced by the supplying dealer prior to our vendor's purchase (July 2025) and he subsequently had it checked by Mercedes-Benz at Worcester just to make sure everything was good. That report will accompany the car together with five service reports (with mileage) from 2018 to 2024. The cars last visit to Mercedes was in February 2026 to fit a new front view camera. The attractive registration number AM53 GTS will remain with the car.

On the road, the AMG GT-S shines with its precise and responsive handling and the driving experience is visceral and engaging, amplified by the V8’s intoxicating roar, an addictive amalgam of hardcore performance and premium luxury. Guided at less than 50% of its new price, this beautiful, low mileage example seems to offer remarkable value for money.
