The 456 succeeded the 412 as the company's V12-powered four-seater. Designed by Pininfarina, the sleek 456 took inspiration from the Daytona several decades before. The GT is the manual version whilst the GTA represents the automatic car with an alleged top speed of 192mph. In 1998, the updated version, or 'modificata', was unveiled adding an 'M' to the moniker and adding several changes to improve aerodynamics, cooling and the interior whilst still featuring the finest Connolly leather but with a slightly refreshed design. The front suspension geometry was also altered to reduce dive under heavy braking and larger 330mm brake discs from the 550 Maranello. Definitely the model to get.
This attractive example in Ferrari TDF blue presents with a matching two-tone blue leather interior which is not only subtle but somehow striking at the same time. The freshly refurbished alloy wheels shod with Pirelli 285/40 tyres to the rear & Continental 255/45s up front set the car off well. The owner clearly enjoys his/her audio reproduction as not only is there an aftermarket Pioneer stereo fitted with additional Alpine control but there is also a specialist Alpine woofer in the boot as well as a discreet reversing camera which is viewable on the Alpine's retractable screen. Interested parties may like to bear in mind that the original Blaupunkt stereo and CD changer are also included in the sale. The electric seats have twin memory settings although the interior dash area has the same issues as most other 456s and would benefit from some attention in this regard. The history is extensive, including instructions for the immobiliser as well as spare keys and the original leather owners pack detailing a £11,765 repaint and refresh in 2024 followed by a new service at QV London as well as a fresh MoT both issued at the same in March of this year.
