  • Only three owners in total
  • Lots of history
  • Appears to be factory standard
  • Very tidy and clean interior

Here we a very rare opportunity to buy a Range Rover that has come out of a 34-year ownership, and to top that it has only had three owners in total - how good is that? It is finished in Cypress green with the grey velour, a very pleasing and instantly recognisable colour combination for a Range Rover of that era. It is sitting on the correct alloy wheels, which are two-tone as they should be, and these in turn are sat on a matching set of Dunlop tyres. All this is finished off with both a set of spot lights, which are part of the grille, and a set of driving lamps, creating a Range Rover from the time that would appear to be factory standard.

The Rangie comes with a clear HPi (as you would expect), a V5 confirming the vendor’s ownership of 34 years, a complete book pack include service book which tells us that it was supplied new to a J.F. Tomlinson of Rossendale, Lancashire by Copley Motors Ltd in Halifax. We even have the spare keys. The history is lovely, with a huge amount of bills and receipts going back many years and older MOTs, which sit very nicely with the current one valid until April 2027. The interior is a lovely place to be and is very clean and well kept, which is a good thing as a lot of Range Rover’s suffer from badly worn interiors. This is not the case with this example, it is lovely. The exterior is nice but does show a few signs of age to be expected - we must remember it is 40 years old.

The vendor has kindly provided the following information:

“Owned for 34 years, 2 sets of keys, 2 previous owners, MOT till April 2027, CIBIE headlights and spot lamps, recently had full recommission and full service, twin Kenlowe fans, new headlining, tint band fitted 341 miles ago, matching dealer number plates, chassis never welded, undersealed and cavity sealed from brand new (extremely rare), genuine Land Rover mats, always dry stored, front inner wings original, new brake discs and pads all round and hubs fully stripped and rebuilt 133 miles ago, removeable radio cassette player, 4 matching Goodyear Wrangler tyres all round, security device fitted, new rear Koni adjustable shock absorbers 2268 miles ago, paintwork mostly original, April 2027 it will be classed as historic vehicle.”

You hopefully get the idea how well it has been loved and cared for, and how it needs to go to a good home to continue being cared for. A Range Rover such as this is a real collector’s piece and deserves to be treated as such.
