The Rolls-Royce 20/25 is widely regarded as one of the most important pre-war models produced by Rolls-Royce, offering a perfect balance of refinement, performance and versatility. Introduced in 1929 as a development of the earlier 20hp, the 20/25 featured a larger 3,669cc overhead-valve straight-six engine, providing improved performance while maintaining the marque's hallmark smoothness and reliability. Its robust chassis allowed for a wide variety of coachbuilt bodies, many of which are now prized for their individuality and craftsmanship.

This particularly elegant example is bodied by Park Ward and is notable for its strikingly sleek and sporting design, featuring an unusually low roofline that gives the car a wonderfully poised and purposeful stance. The styling is reminiscent of the famous Rolls-Royce test car 'The Goshawk', lending it both aesthetic appeal and historical intrigue.

Originally supplied by Agnew Graham of Belfast at considerable expense when new, the car later underwent restoration after being discovered in need of attention in the late 1990s. It subsequently benefitted from significant investment, including a comprehensive engine rebuild by renowned specialists Sargeants of Goudhurst, with invoices totalling over £45,000 documenting the work carried out.

The current owner acquired the car some 10 years ago and has cherished it throughout his tenure, maintaining it carefully and continuing to invest as required, including a further £9,000 of maintenance in recent years. As a result, the car presents well today and is reported to drive very nicely, offering the smooth, refined experience expected of a Rolls-Royce of this period. Accompanied by a substantial history file, this beautifully proportioned 20/25 represents a rare opportunity to acquire a genuinely stylish and usable pre-war Rolls-Royce. With its combination of elegant coachwork, documented history and significant past investment, it offers particularly strong value in today's market for coachbuilt classics of this calibre.
