This 1970 Porsche 911 2.2 S Coupé is a well-presented left-hand drive example, finished in Silver Metallic with a black leather interior. Representing the top-tier S variant of the early 911 range, it combines period-correct specification with a comprehensive restoration and subsequent specialist attention.

The car is understood to have been fully restored between 2013 and 2017, returning it to a high standard throughout. Imported from Belgium and UK-registered in 2021, an MOT issued in October of that year records the mileage at 62,833 miles. It has since been sparingly used, with the odometer now displaying 64,035 miles at the time of cataloguing.

Powered by the 2.2-litre air-cooled flat-six producing approximately 180bhp, the S benefits from a number of performance enhancements over lesser models, including revised camshafts, larger valves, higher compression and increased fuelling. These upgrades are complemented by chassis improvements such as Koni dampers, a rear anti-roll bar and ventilated disc brakes, delivering a notably sharper driving experience. Power is delivered through a desirable 5-speed dog-leg manual gearbox, characteristic of the period.

The car sits on correct 15" Fuchs alloy wheels, completing a specification that remains true to its original character.

The history file includes invoices from recognised Porsche specialists Rindt Vehicle Design, documenting recent maintenance and upgrades. In March 2022, at 62,873 miles, the car benefitted from an alternator upgrade, a full electrical check, installation of a Porsche PCM system, new seatbelts and a replacement battery, with expenditure exceeding £5,000. Further work in September 2022 at 63,553 miles included replacement points and plugs, timing adjustment, installation of a new CDI unit, and a rebuild and adjustment of the gearbox linkage, along with the fitting of a fire extinguisher.

The interior remains in keeping with the car’s overall presentation, offering a clean and purposeful environment, now enhanced by the discreet addition of Porsche PCM. The car is also fitted with a tracker system for added security.

One of just 1,734 examples of the 2.2 S produced in 1970, this is a rare and engaging early 911, combining desirable specification, restoration history and recent specialist expenditure. Supplied with both keys and a V5C, it represents a compelling opportunity to acquire a well-sorted example of one of Porsche’s most celebrated early variants.
