- Leather interior
- Presents and drives well
- Lots of money spent
- A cherished example
It’s always a good thing when you have the opportunity to buy a nice MG at a classic car auction, and here we have just that. This example was first registered on 1/3/1971 and presents itself very well. It looks great in orange - a bright and very MG colour - and has the benefit of black leather seats, which are the originals, and a new carpet. The dash and all the other trim is very nice and is all finished off with a new hood. This is a fine and very cherished example of the great British sports car. They make for a great starter classic or a relevantly low maintenance and easy to own classic, either way it can’t be wrong.
The MG sits on a set of Rostyle alloy wheels, which really sets it off a treat, and is fitted with overdrive, although we have not tested it. The chrome is good and it is fitted with a mesh grille which is of the time. As already mentioned the interior and roof are very good, the exterior is very bright and you can see the benefit of it having had a previous restoration. There are a few signs of bubbling coming through, but not much, and a few age related marks and we tell you this as the rest is very pretty. Under the bonnet is extremely nice and very well detailed, showing many new parts such as servo brakes, red engine block, new hoses, oil cooler and very tidy electrics. This tells you it has been cherished and owned by a very talented enthusiast who has cared for it. The paperwork is rather good with a host of receipts and invoices, some previous owner details and older MOTs. There are also a few spare parts in the boot, which is also very clean, detailed and tidy.
We always insists viewing first hand so you know what you are proposing to buy, which his important, but in this case we also want you to see how nice this MG is, not perfect but very nice indeed.
