For the 2021 model year, Mercedes-AMG introduced a significantly revised E63 S 4MATIC+ Night Edition Estate, refining one of the most accomplished performance estates ever produced. Instantly identifiable by its aggressive 'Carrera' grille, wider front track and arches, and sculpted 'power dome' bonnet, the updated model presents a more purposeful stance while retaining the unmistakable E-Class Estate practicality.
Under the skin, the car was comprehensively re-engineered with the focus on delivering greater breadth of capability. Extensive chassis revisions, including elastokinematic changes, new tension strut bushings at the front, revised damper hydraulics, a new rear subframe carrier, and retuned dynamic engine mounts, transformed the driving character. In parallel, Mercedes-AMG introduced a new transmission and the latest MBUX infotainment system, elevating both performance and usability. The result was a car designed to be more supple and refined in Comfort mode, while retaining full AMG intensity in Sport and Sport+ without compromise.
Powered by the legendary 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 612PS, the E63 S delivers truly supercar-level performance. Official figures quote 0–62mph in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 186mph, though independent testing by Road & Track magazine recorded even more astonishing results, achieving 0–60mph in just 2.8 seconds and a standing quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at 128mph.
This example is particularly significant, being specified in the rare and highly desirable combination of Hyacinth Red Designo paintwork with Macchiato Nappa leather. It was supplied as the original Mercedes-Benz UK launch car for the model, and as such features prominently in period media. While a grey saloon was used for press driving duties, this estate featured in two prominent YouTube comparisons – Autocar’s Matt Prior pitting it against the Audi RS6 Avant and Porsche Panamera Turbo S, and a Car magazine feature against the RS6 – in both cases the Mercedes emerged as the preferred choice.
Exceptionally well specified, it is fitted with a huge array of options including a panoramic glass roof, Driving Assistance Package, Performance Package, and Burmester surround sound system. The full specification is available upon request. Having covered just 25,739 miles at the time of cataloguing, the car has been serviced exclusively by Mercedes-Benz main dealers on six occasions, most recently at Mercedes-Benz West London in December. It is offered with ten months of Mercedes-AMG warranty remaining and represents strong value for money when considering the level of specification, performance, and exclusivity on offer.
The seller is generously including the highly desirable private registration XTP 3, further enhancing its appeal. Offered reluctantly by a long-standing Mercedes-AMG collector who is approaching his 80th birthday, this is one of the most capable and complete performance cars ever produced.
