Unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the 991 generation GT3 marked a major turning point in the evolution of Porsche’s most focused road car. For the first time, the GT3 moved away from the celebrated Mezger engine architecture and adopted a new 3.8-litre direct injection flat-six capable of revving all the way to 9,000rpm. At the same time, Porsche introduced rear axle steering and, controversially at the time, made the lightning fast PDK transmission the sole gearbox option. The result was a car that was sharper, faster and more approachable than any GT3 before it, while still retaining the unmistakable character that has made the brand so revered.

Producing 475bhp and 324lb/ft of torque, combined with the 7-speed PDK transmission, the 991.1 GT3 was capable of 0 to 62mph in just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 196mph. More significant than the figures were the ways in which the car delivered its performance, blending immense front-end precision with the traction and driveability that can transform a regular drive into something truly special.

This example was specified from new with the factory Clubsport Package, an increasingly sought-after option that was selected by only a small proportion of GT3 buyers. While Porsche did not publish an exact production split for Clubsport equipped cars, the package remained a relatively rarely selected option, as many cars were ordered in more comfort oriented road specification. For enthusiasts, the Clubsport package represented the closest link between the road car and Porsche’s motorsport programme before going into the super hardcore GT3 RS world. For the Clubsport they added a factory rear roll cage, preparation for a battery cut-off switch, six-point harness provision and a fire extinguisher, all installed by Porsche at the factory. As a result, genuine Clubsport cars are now recognised as among the most collectible and desirable examples of the 991.1 GT3.

Finished in stunning Agate Grey Metallic over a black interior with contrasting yellow seat belts, this car was further specified with a plethora of the most desirable factory options including the front axle lifting system, carbon fibre bucket seats and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes. The addition of Apple CarPlay discreetly improves day to day usability while preserving the original cabin.

Showing 46,000 miles from new, this GT3 has clearly been exceptionally well cared for throughout its life. The bodywork has been protected by PPF from new, helping preserve the finish, and the car remains in notably impressive condition throughout. It has been maintained exclusively by Porsche main dealers or respected Porsche specialists, with a fully documented service history supporting the quality of its upkeep across successive ownership.

The 991.1 GT3 is now increasingly recognised as a landmark model within the modern 911 lineage, being the first GT3 to combine naturally-aspirated motorsport character with Porsche’s newer chassis technologies. In genuine factory Clubsport specification and presented in such carefully maintained condition, this example represents a particularly rare opportunity to acquire one of the most engaging and highly specified modern GT3s.
