We are delighted to present this elegant 1935 Rolls Royce 20/25 Limousine, a distinguished pre-war car coachbuilt by the renowned Barker & Co. Finished in a timeless Black and White colour scheme, this example exudes British luxury and presence.
Under current ownership since 2002 and with just 4 former keepers, this Rolls Royce has been cherished and maintained throughout its life. The car is said to start readily, run smoothly and was driven to the auction venue without issue. All the gauges are said to be working as they should and the vehicle charges correctly.
The exterior presents well overall, but there are some paint imperfections such as chips and cracking in places. These are consistent with a vehicle of this era and don’t detract from its overall appeal. Much of the chrome remains in good condition, with some age-related wear visible on the door handles.
Inside, the Beige cloth interior offers a welcoming and authentic period feel and presents well. The seats, dashboard and carpets look to be in good order, while the headlining mostly presents well. There is, however, some moth damage in the rear compartment.
Mechanically, this example benefits from significant investment over the years. Most notably, the engine was comprehensively rebuilt in 2010 at a cost of around £19,000, with supporting invoices from specialist Richard Parsons. Additional works, all carried by Richard Parsons, include rewiring in 2011, renew all inlet and exhaust gaskets in 2015, and a clutch and gearbox rebuild in 2016, with supporting invoices. In 2005, the Rolls had a new air filter element, engine oil and spark plugs etc, by A & S Engineering, and then later in 2016 by Beechwood Motor Company Ltd, who carried out an MOT test and changed the engine oil etc. The car also sits on four tyres fitted new in 2023.
Further history includes previous MOT certificates, tax discs and the current V5C. The vehicle is registered as Historic so is MOT and Tax exempt.
This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a usable and well-maintained example of the Rolls Royce 20/25, ideal for events or simply enjoying as a piece of automotive history.
