  • Smaller and lighter than its predecessor, its rivals were the all conquering Suzuki GSX-R, Honda VFR and Yamaha's FZ
  • 1988 saw the introduction of the new World Superbike Championship with all the major players involved including Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Bimota and Ducati
  • The championship was incredibly hard fought with Fred Merkel on a Honda being the eventual winner
  • Kawasaki won the 1988 Hungarian round with Adrien Morrillas riding the bike on offer here
  • Following on from the WSB Championship, the machine was raced in French National Superbikes in 1989
  • Offered in mostly original and unrestored condition and in running order
  • History file included with various receipts, a copy of the 'Rapport D'Expertise' on the bike and a Goodwood Festival of Speed invitation letter dated March 2018
